You
probably know what a void message is. Yes, it's a special type
of an SMS message that, when received, is not displayed at all or
stored anywhere but the phone still plays the "message received" tone.
Till now, such a message could only be sent using a cable and PanuWorld FLASHMSG. With this patch
you will be able to send them using just your phone.
Note that the behaviour of void messages depends on the recipient's phone model (only). Void messages are known to work on most Nokia DCT-3 generation phones. New phones may understand that the message is void and silently ignore it. Anyway, the senders identity is not displayed in that case, too.
Note: Very old phones may process the void messages like regular text messages, although the contents of the message is undisplayable. However, that kind of phones may expose the sender identity to the recipient.
Void messages work as intended if the recipient has one of the following phone models (if you succeed with any other receiving phone model, please inform NuukiaWorld so that it can be added to the list below):
(Phones marked with * have not been tested by NuukiaWorld personally but are included in the compatibility list based on third-party information.)
CAUTION: Trying to modify the built-in firmware of a mobile phone may make it practically unrepairable. This applies especially to phones that does not have a separate EEPROM chip for settings and calibrations (e.g. most Nokia 3xxx phones). Before trying to update the flash memory, you need to understand the functions of your flashing program and the whole flashing process, including any checksum updates required. NuukiaWorld does not give any support in flashing-related questions.
