It is time-consuming to read the SMS you have just typed on DCT-3 phones with two-way arrow key. The cursor moves only one character at a time and there is no way to scroll the text without going through all the characters on all rows of the message.
This patch helps in "proofing" your messages by introducing a SMS preview functionality, which is available from the Options menu of the Write message mode.
In the preview mode you can quickly scroll through the message and if you are satisfied with it, directly press Send to continue to sending of the message. Pressing Back allows you to go back to the message editor to continue editing the message contents.
There are similar scripts (with almost same name) from other authors, too. However, the one I tested did not work on my Nokia 6110. This patch is written in pure assembler and the flash footprint is minimized. It has been developed for 6110 and it should work on other models, too.
CAUTION: Trying to modify the built-in firmware of a mobile phone may make it practically unrepairable. This applies especially to phones that does not have a separate EEPROM chip for settings and calibrations (e.g. most Nokia 3xxx phones). Before trying to update the flash memory, you need to understand the functions of your flashing program and the whole flashing process, including any checksum updates required. NuukiaWorld does not give any support in flashing-related questions.
